Evernote, makers of the popular multi-platform memory enhancing service, today announced the launch of The Evernote Trunk, a dynamic catalog designed to help users discover complementary products, applications and content that enrich their Evernote experience. The Trunk also provides increased exposure and revenue opportunities to the ever-expanding number of products and services that tie into Evernote's platform for human memory.
The Trunk is built into the desktop and Web versions of Evernote, allowing users to explore dozens of partner offerings, ranging from document scanners to voice transcription services to collaboration platforms to PDF annotation tools. Every product contained within the Evernote Trunk leverages some, or all, of Evernote's powerful features, including cross-platform synchronization, image recognition, note creation and storage. In addition to hardware and software, the Trunk introduces a new distribution opportunity for publishers and content providers with its 'Notebooks' category. "Evernote's evolution from personal tool to human memory platform has been thrilling," said Phil Libin, CEO of Evernote. "Our vision has never changed: Evernote is here to help people remember everything. Over the past two years, that has become a vision shared by thousands of developers worldwide that have made Evernote a key component of their applications. The Trunk takes all their amazing work and places it squarely in front of our over three and a half million users. It's really exciting to see Evernote bring more value to our users and increase the visibility of our partners at the same time." New and exciting integrations
Exclusive content partners "We love Evernote. It helps us collect and share the research that makes Cool Hunting possible," said Josh Rubin, editor in chief of Cool Hunting. "Being a launch content partner in the Evernote Trunk is a really great opportunity. We're able to give Evernote users some exclusive Cool Hunting content, demonstrate the exciting things that users can collect online and, at the same time, we're exposed to Evernote's huge base. We're eager to see the response to this new approach to content distribution." Easier access to all integrations
"Frankly, we developed Egretlist for ourselves. We use Evernote every day and we were looking for task management features that weren't available, so we built them," said Juan Arzola, creator of Egretlist. "What we didn't anticipate was the revenue potential of creating this app. It turned out that there were many Evernote users looking for the functionality our app provides, which has translated into a very nice return. We're really looking forward to more Evernote users discovering our application through the Evernote Trunk." Worldwide development "Working on the Trunk has been an eye-opening experience," said Seth Hitchings, director of partner integrations at Evernote. "I've had the pleasure of collaborating with partners around the world ranging from the smallest startups to large multinational corporations, and across the board the commitment to quality and innovation is striking. It's great to see all the wonderful integrations that we're launching today, but it's also very exciting to look forward to all of the upcoming releases that will continue to add capabilities to the Evernote platform."
