Volunteers from BNSF Railway Company (BNSF)
will host children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Phoenix Children's
Hospital, Center for Burns and Trauma, Arise Foundation and Arizonans for
Children on a special train trip, Saturday, Oct. 31.
"This is a very special train trip for us because it gives us an opportunity to give back to the communities that we serve," says Daryl Ness, BNSF general manager, Southwest Division. "We are all looking forward to giving these children a special treat on Halloween Day." At least 500 children and adults dressed in Halloween costumes are expected to ride the special train consisting of two BNSF locomotives and 12 passenger cars. Children will be treated and tricked by a face painter, balloon artist and magician during the three-hour trip. Passengers will board the train in the city of Glendale at a location east of 59th Ave. and W. Grand Ave. As the train travels from Glendale to Wickenburg, the children will be served refreshments and receive wooden train whistles and engineer hats.
